The post apocalyptic genre has long been one of my favorite story types, whether it be books, movies, or games. Maze Runner? Of course! The Last of Us? Yes please. (Yes, that includes the Last of Us Part 2). Aletheia? Oh wait, I wrote that one, so I should love it, right? Well there lies the problem. Because in 2020 my dreams of meeting my Red River publication goals went up in flames, because of one small little mental health set-back... the pandemic.

It turns out that writing a virus based post apocalypse book is sort of hard to do when it feels like you're living in a virus based post-apocalypse book. And so I put Red River down for one month, two, three. Next thing I knew half a year was gone and I'd written nothing. And then the fear hit me. If I can't even write in my own book due to pandemic rooted problems, how can the post-apocalyptic genre possible survive? And so I set out to make a video answering just that. I hope you enjoy it. PS I absolutely loved Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and if you need a light-hearted post apocalypse you should 10284% watch it. If you liked Avatar the Last Airbender I bet you will love Kipo.
