Lake Khoton-Nuur is the pearl of the Mongolian Altai, located in the heart of the mountains. Its crystal clear waters reflect the majestic peaks covered with eternal snow, creating a unique picture around.
Surrounded by dense larches, Lake Haughton-Nuur seemed to have descended from the canvases of great artists. Its shores create an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
Here, time seems to stop, and the soul is filled with tranquility. Lake Khoton-Nuur is a place where you can forget about the hustle and bustle and enjoy the beauty of nature.
The lake is located in the Bayan-Ulgiy aimag. It lies in the mountains of the Mongolian Altai at an altitude of 2083.6 m above sea level. The lake is rich in fish: grayling, Mongolian osman and others are found in it.
Our team arrived at the lake in the dead of the dark night, in the pitch darkness under the headlights of cars, we managed to find a lone powerful larch tree, under the shade of which we set up camp. With the first rays of dawn, we were lifted up, meeting the amazing beauty that stretches around Lake Haughton-Nuur.
