Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back!: I made this one a two part beat as John Williams had stepped his game up from the original Star Wars film. "ATAT Attack" was inspired by the mechanical offensive of Hoth by the Empire . I wanted it to sound Industrial and menacing and somewhat unpleasant but rythmic. In, short what I thought the Empire sounds like. Monolithic and uniform with very little emotion. "Luminous Beings" is the polar opposite. Based on "Yods'a Theme" which is spiritual, mysterious and uplifting,I managed to find a melodic flip within the notes and translated it to what I felt was a very J Dilla inspired track, but wrapped in a star wars blanket. So I've been disappointed by the Star Wars related albums I've heard in the past.They just didn't feel like they were made by a true fan of our Galaxy Far Far Away...So I've decided to make my own, but unlike any interpretation done before. "A Star Wars Album" consists of 9 tracks sampled and created from each of the 9 Skywalker trilogy's original John Williams score, dialogue and sound effects. Essentially each Episode is it's own self contained production for each film. As I started creating the tracks I realized it would be way more fun to cut some of the films as visuals to accompany the music as well, to help listeners really place where I was getting all the sounds from. So I hope you hardcore fans(and casual) enjoy listening to my interpretation as much as i had making it! May the Force be with you.
