A vintage car tour through the contrasting metropolis takes you past colonial aristocratic palaces, the Capitol and the “Revolution Square”.

In Cuba, as everywhere else in the world, the most interesting conversations take place in the kitchen. The film team gets an insight into everyday life in Havana during a cooking course with a Cuban couple. In the Viñales Valley, Nina tries the first cigar of her life at tobacco farmer Benito and they have an appointment to dance salsa in colorful Trinidad.
In the Sierra Maestra they hike in the footsteps of the revolution: the rebel camp Comandancia de la Plata was set up by Fidel Castro in 1957; Che Guevara's field hospital, Fidel Castro's hut and Radio Rebelde's radio station - from here revolutionary ideas were broadcast to the population.
Cuba's oldest city, Baracoa, is located in the most densely wooded region of Cuba. Nina and Jonas spend the night here in a casa particular, private accommodation. Baracoa is known for its chocolate and on a small cocoa farm, Nina is allowed to help with the harvest. 100 percent chocolate, because powdered milk is strictly rationed and hard to come by.
