"In the beginning there was only the Omeyocán, an infinite region home to the primeval god of duality Ometéotl. Beyond this place, a primitive roaring and dark ocean covered the rest of the universe, home to a mythical creature of cosmic dimensions: Cipactli, a cosmic beast similar to a crocodile or sea serpent covered with spikes and spines.

Cipactli was hunted by the brothers Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcóatl and with his dismembered body they formed the Tlaltícpac, the horizontal region of the universe. Place where nothing is eternal, and where action and work allow its inhabitants to reach the state of Nican Axcan, the here and now, far from all past and all future.

A square extension and surrounded by Ateotl, or "Divine Water", which rises like a wall that unites it with the heavens and defined by the four cardinal points corresponding to each of the Tezcatlipocas."
