With a range of around 8,700 kilometers, the A321XLR replaces the A321LR as the longest-range variant of the A321neo. This is made possible by aerodynamic improvements and new engines that were already introduced with the A321neo. Other measures include an increased maximum take-off weight of 101 tons and a 16,000-liter higher fuel capacity compared to the conventional A321. Thanks to the very efficient engines, the combination of all measures makes it possible to achieve a large increase in range. This makes it extremely interesting for many airlines, as it can open up numerous new destinations and connections.
