Police detain 18 oil pipeline protesters

The police are holding 18 activists who were marching in protest against the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline. The arrested individuals, mostly university students, have held similar demonstrations in the past. Deputy Police Spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan region, Luke Owoyesigire, says the arrest is due to unlawful assembly, as Jackson Onyango reports…
