PLC Programming in RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000 software from Allen Bradley can be challenging. Various techniques are disabled in online PLC programming and make it more difficult for engineers to duplicate code; a task that occurs in every programming instance.

In this video, we cover a method used by professional PLC programmers to get around the restriction of automatically replacing tags in software. By using an offline file, it’s possible to create a number of rungs of the same type for a different asset.

This method can be applied in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams, and other languages in PLC programming.
