Sergei P.: I was playing with your app Wind 4x4 and found the situation when the overstanding of the layline paid off. How is it possible?

Hi Sergei,
you noticed a very interesting point!
The explanation to your question:
"overstanding of the layline paid off“
is not simple but I try to explain as follows:
You have to analyse the wind conditions in the squares around buoy #1:
Line 2 and column 4 : increased wind of 20 KN,
increased boat speed of 19 KN at direction of 25°
Line 2 and column 3 : less wind of only 14 KN,
boat speed of only 10 KN at direction of 20°

So my answer is:
"it pays off" to look for more wind in square line 2 column 4 - right side and below the buoy 1 - and go this way!
It is not recommended to look at lay lines to early if you are far away from the buoy.
The polar file which is underlaying the TS program reflects this effect of
boat direction and wind direction (45° + 25°) = effective - 70° perfectly.
The lay line might miss leading as the shortest path, because it indicates the wind direction in square at line 1 and column 3 at 25 °.
Let the boat „laser" run by „Autopilot“ (klick key ‚w‘ only) and the program will turn around towards buoy 1 comfortably.

I hope my explanations make sense to you?
