How to use the FORMULATEXT function in Excel. This function is new from Excel 2013 and is used to view the formula as a string in a cell.

This function can be useful when auditing the formulas on a spreadsheet.

Although Excel has the functionality to show formulas on a spreadsheet, by using this function you can combine it with other functions such as IF, FIND, MID or SEARCH.

This video tutorial demonstrates how to use the FORMULATEXT function and also shows an example of counting the number of characters in the formula.
