Anthem of the Soviet Union, STALIN VERSION (English subtitles) USSR - CCCP
The Soviet Union's anthem, with music composed by Alexander Alexandrov and lyrics by Sergey Mikhalkov, was officially adopted in 1944 during World War II. In this version, a verse praising Joseph Stalin, the Soviet leader at the time, was included. The anthem, with its majestic melody and lyrics extolling the achievements of the Revolution and socialism, became a powerful symbol of the regime. However, after Stalin's death in 1953, the anthem was modified to remove personal references, reflecting the political changes in the Soviet Union.
