The "Big6" is the latest officially-licensed controller for the Genesis and Mega Drive, offering 6-button functionality in a 3-button form factor. Much hay has been made about the placement of the start button, which I didn't have an issue with, but the real (and only) problem with the controller is its d-pad. For me it was still $16 well-spent, but hopes for this becoming my primary Genesis controller have sadly been dashed.
Compatibility update: I tested the controller with Forgotten Worlds, which is a game that will not work with an original 6-button controller regardless of whether or not you hold down the "Mode" button when powering on the console. It also does not work with the Big6. So I would assume that the same compatibility issues that exist with the original 6-button controllers will also exist with the Big6.
