This series launch for the Queer globalizations series features Gayatri Gopinath (NYU), Martin Manalasan (Rutgers), and Maya Mikdashi (Rutgers) in conversation with Margot Weiss (Wesleyan) about transnational and postcolonial queer studies and politics--then and now.
Queer Globalizations revisits the 1998 CLAGS conference "Queer Globalizations/Local Homosexualities: Citizenship, Sexuality and the Afterlife of Colonialism" to explore global, transnational, and postcolonial queer and trans studies today.
This series is organized by Margot Weiss and co-sponsored by American Studies at Wesleyan University; CUNY LGBTQIA+ Consortium; Feminist Studies at UC Santa Barbara; The Orfalea Center for Global & International Studies at UC Santa Barbara; and Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at UMass Amherst.
Poster design by José Miguel Camarcho.
