How long does it take to learn how to kite?

In this video we hope to answer one of the most common questions surrounding kitesurfing: How long does it take to learn how to kite?
A typical Beginner Learn to Kite package is usually 9 hours split up into 3 hour blocks.
○ The First 1-3 hours is Equipment, Setup, First Flight & Basics
○ The 2nd 3 hour block is dedicated to practicing flying the kite on land/in the water or both. The skills you learn here are the fundamentals for every kite session.
○ The last 3 hours is dedicated to the water skills, flying the kite with control in the water and incorporating the board to get to the water start and progress to riding across the water (and into the sunset :) that moment every kiter eagerly anticipates!)
After the 9 hr package mark, some may choose to carry on practicing on their own to develop that muscle memory for flying the kite before booking back into another lesson for some coaching. Some, prefer to continue with lessons or paid supervision until they feel confident in their kite piloting.
A great way to learn how to kite is by incorporating your first kite lesson into your next vacation. Usually these are the ideal locations, sunny, warm :)
