Phenotype: Genome, Environment, and Epigenome
This short video briefly presents why cells can have the same genotype but look and function differently. Epigenetic factors are now known to play a role in developing traits and diseases. While the gene is an essential determinant of some phenotypes, nurture has a role in developing epigenetic tags on chromosomes which influences the phenotype. The epigenetic markers, like DNA, can pass on to the following generations.
