2BNT - Asperger's Ambience
The title captures my occasional desire to not suffer from high functioning autism. NT stands for neurotypical. The track follows a typical path I often experience with sensory input. Things start off a bit intense but settle down to a level that's not overwhelming before the intensity comes back. The fight against the powerful sensory input gets real as it's forced to a level somewhere higher than normal but bearable. The dam doesn't hold and the intensity comes to a peak before a false sense of security sets in and is interrupted by more overload and an inevitable shutdown from being overwhelmed.
This piece takes five minutes to go through those steps but I can experience it all in less than a second. Especially if the sensory input is an odor.
Tracks are made with a eurorack modular synthesizer and VCV Rack and mastered in Reaper.
