Install Django (Python Web Framework) in Linux Mint (Ubuntu) :

Open a new terminal and use the wget command-line utility to download the specific tarball from djangoproject.com like shown in the following instruction.

wget https://www.djangoproject.com/m/relea...

Then use the tar utility to extract the archive.

tar xvf Django-1.6.8.tar.gz

Then run the setup.py file to install django on your machine.

cd Django-1.6.8

python setup.py install

That's all .
