This video covers how to enter a vSphere 7 license key and apply it to a VMware vSphere product. It covers the vCenter license install, vSAN license install, and ESXi license install and apply.

There are two parts to installing a vSphere license. Adding the key to vCenter Server, and then applying it to a vSphere asset. This video covers a couple of ways to do this.

It is very important to assign vCenter, VSAN, and ESXi licenses. By default after a fresh install the 60 day evaluation license will be used.

If you do not assign a vSphere licenses, your hosts will disconnect and you will not be able to restart or start VMs. The VMs however will continue to run.

To avoid disruption in your environment, be sure to apply vSphere licenses as part of your validation plan.
