Before I even talk about the song I have to apologize for its issues. Despite the monumental power of the new rig, Sonar still crashes as much as a test dummy and this time it ate up my time with just how much I lost every time it did. This only doubles by the fact the latency "glitch" has gotten worse so timing errors aren't awful because I've tried to tweak them but there are pretty present in places. This added to the fact my lone decent saxophone VST seemed to have sampled from three different mics presenting some less than fun issues there.
Okay, so enough complaining! This one is one of those requests from back in spring and finally popped up as I'm even afraid to touch the Castlevania tune right now in fear of losing it... despite backups. :P But what a widely familiar and jazzy little number to hop into. This is more of an arrangement than a remix as while I do my own thing with it, it's definitely got all the flair and feel of most versions we all know. No metal, no techno, not even strings. Just piano, vibes, lots of brass, some 60s guitar, and some jazzkit drums to bebop this one through its short performance. It was meant to be longer but I think the first paragraph stated it all. I was 6 hours from a midnight upload so there wasn't much time to get much further or tweak much more. But all in all? I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it DID turn out after all. And a testament to the Mancini talent that even a glitched version can still move some feet.
The footage is from the 2006 Pink Panther reboot starring Steve Martin of which I definitely do NOT own the copyright to. All copyright to the footage goes to Columbia & Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Its use is meant to be in honor of the franchise and the music, attempting to be used in the legal realms of fair use given to review shows and the like.
2013 NOTE: Oddly enough, apparently the remix is blocked in Germany because someone considers the remix to be performed by Henry Mancini himself... or something to that crazy notion. I'd be flattered if it weren't completely unfair to an entire group of people. Nice job once again, Youtube.
