The first chapter of the Ascension Arcadia Championship story, where the warrior of light competes in the Light-heavyweight Division to rouse the spirits of the people of Alexandria after losing their malevolent king and, more profoundly, their beloved queen.
Stylish stranger Metem, head of strategic management at Ascension Arcadia, recruits the warrior of light to compete in the championship upon the arena's reopening. The warrior of light triumphs over Black Cat followed by Honey B. Lovely, after which Black Cat reveals her name to be Yaana and joins the warrior of light as their second. Yaana reveals the absence of her sister Eutrope, a former fighter in the Arcadion known as Wicked Thunder, who has mysteriously gone missing in her prime, before the warrior of light battles the scandalous cheat and light-heavyweight champion Brute Bomber, once again prevailing.
To celebrate the warrior of light's crowning as the new champion of the light-heavyweight division, a ceremony is held, during which Eutrope appears and challenges the warrior of light, insisting she must have their soul. The Arcadion president sanctions the special exhibition match and the warrior of light is victorious yet again. Following her defeat, Eutrope reveals that fighters in the Arcadion meet a fate called psychonekrosis, destined to kill them by eroding their very souls. Through Metem's convincing, Yaana and the warrior of light resolve to ascend the ranks of the championship to gain access to the feral souls causing psychonekrosis to release them and put an end to the proliferation of the disease.
