RimWorld Alpha 12 Ep. 1 - Quick Tips for Getting Started and Embarking - Let's Play Guide
RimWorld Alpha 12 is surprisingly great. This RimWorld Let's Play series focus on getting to know the game and teaching mechanics to players new to the game. Please ask questions if you have any. RimWorld blends elements of Dwarf Fortress and Prison Architect -- so if you are familiar with either you will be on your feet quickly. Only to have the AI crush you back down. It is a survival simulator after all. RimWorld is not supposed to be easy, although if you prefer to just build a base in a relaxing environment there are settings for that.
Also, beware of turtles. You'll see what I mean. The first game play video is also being posted today. Sadly, I was forced to repost this video due to a very odd audio desync issue.
This play through of RimWorld is in a temperate forest biome set on Cassandra Classic, Challenge Difficulty. This specific video focuses on rolling characters, the most important skills at the start, and how to generate a world and pick a good landing spot/crash site. This is an unmodded run.
