How to Build a Hydrofoil Board | Shaping the Blank – (Rails, Concave, Sanding) (Video 6)
In this video, I continue shaping the DIY mid-length hydrofoil board. With the outline, rocker, and thickness already done, it’s time to get into the finer shaping details: rolling the rails, carving in the concave bottom, and sanding everything smooth and symmetrical.
These final shaping steps make a huge difference in how the board performs on the water. I’m keeping the shape simple and DIY-friendly, all using hand tools and materials you can find locally. The design is inspired by downwind SUP boards, but scaled for winging and parawinging.
