Spain, Torre de Cabrafich - DaneWithADrone
The Cabrafich Tower is located near the town of Busot, in the region of L ́Alacantí, in the foothills of the Sierra de Busot and north of the town. It is also known by the name of Torre de Busot or Villa Renata.
Although remains of ceramics from the Bronze Age and Iberian have been found, the Castle of Busot is of Muslim origin and there is little documentation about its history, although it is estimated that it was built at the same time that the medina of Bisant was founded, Arab denomination of the current Busot., from which it takes its origin, in the Almohad occupation of these Alicante lands.
After the Christian conquest of the square by King James I the Conqueror, in 1.252 it was incorporated into the term of Alicante by decree of King Alfonso X the Wise when this territory belonged to the kingdom of Castile.
During the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, the castle and the town belonged to the family of nobles Pedro Martínez de Vera. With the passing of the centuries, the castle was gradually abandoned by its durñoa, until it was in ruins, being totally useless for the subsequent avatars of the history of these lands, which meant not being able to intervene in the events of relevance that occurred later, especially the War of Succession.
To complete the defensive system of the town during the Berber attacks, some defensive towers were built inside, and of which this is one of the few exponents that have reached us until today.
