Computer Systems Bomblab Phase 1 Walkthrough
In this video, I demonstrate how to solve the Bomblab Phase 1 for Computer Systems. I assume that the student has already set up a VPN connection to a Linux system running on an Intel x86_64 computer architecture that is authorized to run your bomb.
1. Log into the linux system using your preferred ssh software.
2. Navigate to where your bomb is.
3. Run the command "strings bomb".
4. Find the phrase that sticks out.
5. Try out the phrase you thought is correct by running "./bomb" and then entering the phrase when prompted.
6. If it worked, great! Otherwise, your bomb just exploded. The video walkthrough for phase 3 will show you how to avoid this.
7. Use Control-C to exit the running bomb program if you're not ready to work on the next phase.
