Enterprise-E rams the Scimitar - No Sound in Space
The ship-smashing scene in Nemesis, but without sound when the camera is in space.
This was a little harder than it looks. I wanted to remove the ship sound during the space scenes with music, so I had to splice in music from the soundtrack. I gave each cut a slight delay of a few frames because human ears are often accustomed to hearing sounds a split second after we see the thing that makes them, and also did a very tiny fade in/out of the sounds during cuts. Finally, I added some filtered "ship sound" (low rumble) back in under the whole thing. In context, it subconsciously sounds more like silence than silence.
I think it's pretty neat!
