Remote Damper Control RJ45s
If you didn't know what these are (as I didn't) you might be confused thinking they were part of shoddy structured data cabling system. However, as I found out (just recently) they're actually part of the HVAC system. And, mounting them in this haphazard fashion is common (as far as I can tell).
Until this encounter, I had no idea what these were. I took a video and posted it to Tiktok with #wtfisthis tag thinking someone else could help me out. Turn out a lot of other people had not seen this before either.
Fortunately, a few in-the-know commenters told me what they were.
