Back with a video that is a MUCH more accurate representation of the ray tracing capability in this game. Help me get to 1000 subscribers!
I've played around a ton with this video. I made sure there was NO weather change and NO fog differences between clips. Everything should be as absolutely close as possible to get the best sense of what is actually happening with ray tracing enabled.
Ray tracing in this game only adds 3 simple things. Ambient occlusion, reflections, and shadows. There are some clips where you might even scratch your head wondering what has changed. Unless Ray traced global illumination is involved, you get a result like this. I think we can all agree this game looks amazing either way. I hope you like seeing this stuff as much as I do!
The reason my last #hogwartslegacy video had such drastic differences, is that I was unaware that the weather system changes so quickly in this game. Especially around dusk and dawn you will get a hugely different color cast within even 30 seconds. I did not account for this and posted the video unknowing. I've gone to lengths to make this video much more accurate.
I will also mention you are able to tweak the intensity of the reflections through modifying game files. You have COMPLETE control regarding how shiny you want the surfaces. I've done this and I've also added a few more tweaks to get the game running smooth. There are no other mods applied in this video!
If you want to try it, just paste these settings at the end of your Engine.ini located - "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor"
[SystemSettings]
