A simplistic man Raju (Anil Kapoor), born in a family of millions of riches, longs for a mother’s love and seeks it in the heart of a manipultive stepmother. While she ploys to steal the family’s wealth, Raju lives in a blissful ignorance until he meets Saraswati (Madhuri Dixit) at a function. The duo falls in love and gets married. Saraswati, now a part of his family, is shocked to see how poorly Raju's father is treated. She sees through the ruse and sets out to expose the stepmother. A war of wits ensues between the two women. But blinded by his love for his stepmother, will Raju believe his wife? Will the stepmother ever find redemption?
