Backpacking in Strawberry Wilderness, Fly Fishing in Slide Lake, and Summiting Strawberry Mountain
An excellent 3 night camping adventure with 3 cousins in one of the lesser known gems of Oregon: the Strawberry Wilderness.
We met up at Strawberry Campground, and after a night's rest, hiked up Strawberry Basin Trail 375 to a great spot on the north side of Strawberry Lake with a swim and fly fishing. The next day, we took Slide Basin Trail 372 to Slide Lake and Little Slide Lake for excellent brook trout fly fishing.
The next day, Anders immersed himself in Strawberry Falls on our way to Little Strawberry Lake. I headed up to the summit of Strawberry Mountain (9,035ft / 2754m) and back down again to Strawberry Lake to watch an osprey catching fish.
Then we hiked out to a great meal in Prairie City, Oregon. A fun camping trip!
