Please remember the HQ!
This one is pretty damn short but funny enough its had a lot done to it. I added a lot of effects and photoshoppery to get this result but theyre mainly very subtle, which is quite important when working with this kind of footage. I am often handicapped because I tend to work with quite ugly footage (Bleach and Naruto) both budget shows produced on a weekly basis, theres no money (or effort?) there for good camera angles and state of the art animation, only once in a blue moon. I notice aswell some of the insanely popular AMV gods we have on this planet rarely even do anything to videos, they simply use extremely high quality video footage and animation, maybe mask in one or two scenes and its a masterpiece. I'm not really used to working with stuff like that, I usually have to work my arse off to make my videos look less ugly than they would be unedited and with a video like this, I didnt have that worry. My main problem was trying to make something out of the footage that would look different, because everyones seen these trailers a thousand times and I guess you need to give people a reason to watch it once more. I can't really think of one but uhh...the songs nice? xD
And hooray for my first ever Lara vid. Shes so incredibly awesome, i love how shes no longer (just) a sex symbol for horny lads, since her evolution shes become everything she was supposed to be originally. Theres a lot of young girls in fiction these days. Whilst some are great you tend to get tired of seeing them handle situations so badly because of their age. Lara is woman, shes seen a lot, been through even more and yet she has developed a way to survive whilst retaining her morals. She isnt perfect and she has lapses (like how she killed Larson when he was so cute with his 'Ah aint gon hurt u' attitude.) but her lapses weigh heavily on her mind which is such a great attribute. Tomb raider isnt just about Lara though, its a huuuge tribute to our culture as a race. The way we create gods so that we can cope with our fears of mortality and feeling alone in the universe. The way we invent myths and legends to leave our legacy, our messages or to control people. Whilst none of the creatures featured in the game are real (or still alive) their origins are a constant reminder of what we're capable of creating. Tomb Raider deals with all of these subjects, but I fear for the series now Square has its Japanese hands on the title, lets hope the next installment doesnt have Lara turning in to a sailor senshi, summoning fire spirits, levelling up and carrying swords eight times her body mass. \m/ Enjoy the vid, for all its shortness.
