What is folder virus
Folder virus is a type of virus which creates duplicate folder into a folder but with extension of .exe.
For example i have a folder on my harddisk named as doom.Folder virus will create another folder into doom folder named as doom.exe
Size of folder virus is 308 kb.
It creates a file in c:/windows named as "windows.exe"
it creates a process in taskmanager named as windows.exe and _pltban.exe
it creates its entry into startup folder and registory editor.
------------------DAMAGES CAUSED BY FOLDER VIRUS----------------------
1.It will disable taskmanger.
2.it will disable registory editor.
3.it will block ur access to antiviral websites.
4.Folder virus will be speaded onto whole hardisk within hour.
5.iT will disable some features of gpedit.exe
6.It will block windows malcious removal tool (mrt.exe)
7.Downloading from microsoft website will also disabled.

Removal of folder virus is not a easy task because it spreads onto whole harddisk not only in one drive.Most people only format A SINGLE part of there hardisk about which they think it might contain virus or Reinstall windows.Thats not a solution.This virus makes its entries on whole hardisk.
You have two options to remove this virus.
1.Format your whole hardisk(format all drives).
2.Second option is that which i recommend,use of Powerful antivirus with firewall i suggest (AVIRA PREMIUM SECURITY 10) after installation of Avira do a full syatem scan.And set security level of avira firewall to high.I assure you that you will easily remove that virus.
