I want to share a breakthrough mindset shift with you.

This mindset shift singlehandedly helped me to get over the hurdle of starting my photography and social media business/journey.

Before I started I used to think:

“Photography is too competitive. I’ll never be able to make a living doing it.”

“Social media is too saturated now. There is no way that I can stand out.”

But then through some self-development and soul-searching I realised this:

There is only one person that can be ME.

And the same is true for YOU.

Not a single person in the past, present and future of human existence will ever have the same collection of thoughts, feelings, experiences, perspectives, etc. as you do.

Yes, there may be things that you have in common with others but your experience in life is entirely your own.

I want to say a few things that I used to say to my students when I lectured at a university and still say to students in my workshop;

Your skills and knowledge are not common.

Your experiences AREN’T boring, mundane or unworthy of being shared.

Your perspective and thoughts ARE valuable.

And your personality and the things you do are unique.

So who do you think you are to deny the world of YOU?

By sharing who you are and what you do, you can make a difference in people’s lives.

No matter how big or small, and whether it’s one person or millions of people.

So again, who are you to deprive the world of YOU?

In the great words of Dr. Seuss, “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

There is and always will be enough space in any industry and on social media for you to carve out a slice for yourself.

You have no competition.

Nothing is ever too saturated.

If you want to stand out in whatever field you pursue, lean into the things that make you YOU.

Share your skills and knowledge.

Share your experiences and passions.

Share your stories and perspectives.

And by doing that you not only have the power to change your life, but also the lives of many others.

No one else is Youer than You.
