The 2024 Indian general election is taking place in seven phases from 19 April to 1 June 2024. Voters will elect all 543 members of the Lok Sabha. The incumbent Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is running for a third consecutive term. The two major alliances competing are the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the other is Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) led by the Indian National Congress (INC). A total of 272 seats are needed for a majority to form the government.
