I often get asked if "blank" microphone can work with a cheap audio interface. When it comes to podcasting we have the option to add gain in post production which allows us some wiggle room on how loud we need to get our recordings. But since we may be live streaming we do want to make sure we are able to reach decent levels of volume with our mic and audio interface combo.

In this video I pair the Samson Q9U microphone and the Behringer UM2 interface to see if I can reach the same level as I do on my RodeCaster Pro.

What are your thoughts on the comparison? Is the Behringer passable?
