Eastport, Maine: This Eastport Windjammers nature cruise was so big and exciting I broke the content into two separate videos: "Whales, Porpoise, and Lighthouses" - "Lobsters, Crabs and Fish Smooches". Be sure to watch both.
Eastport Windjammers are based in historic Eastport, Maine. Their new boat is 47' long and 19'4" wide and comfortably carries 49 passengers.
This 2 1/2 to 3 hour cruise leaves the Eastport Waterfront at 1:30pm and cruises past the Old Sow, the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere. They sail through Head Harbor Passage towards Canada's East Quoddy Lighthouse and the whale feeding grounds.
Bald Eagles and Ospreys fly overhead while seals and porpoise play in the waves. The scenery represents Down East Maine and the Maritimes at their finest.
Once back at port where the Captain and Mate will haul their lobster traps overflowing with lobsters, starfish, crabs, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, sculpin (fish) and other deep-sea wildlife. The Harris family provides generations of knowledge about the Eastport area.
Adults: $50---Children Under 12yrs: $35---Children Under 5yrs: $20
