Leah says ' I called moven back to Hawaii from Burbank Ca. a hiatus. I'm a Hollywood drop -out. Be-comming creative at a local community TV station in Hawaii 'in my mind' was suppose to work as a pacifier until I could get a real tit in my mouth, ($$$$$$$ a 7 figuer DEAL).
I always feel like a child when editing playing with my toys 'IMOVIE and FINAL CUT PRO'. Experimenting with my visions and liven on pure inspiration ! I forgot all about my ambitions I once had. I never got the big part in Hollywood, but I got to work with the biggest names in show buz ! ( don't care to drop names at this time, but I learn't a lot,) Commercially my Career seems to be going backwards. Spiriturally I've reach STATES OF BLISS !
Bliss... now that I've experience this .. ,I'm not so sure its something you can reach for. Its NOT like getting high, its more like You become the High ! I have this lovin spring bloom inside my own soul.
Like one sees the weather, not just with your eyes, but by what you feel from it.
LOL (laugh) People I don't even know come up to me all the time and tell me "you have a beautiful smile and I love your show" I say "thank-you" bliss -out, I have no idea what I look like. Being a filmmaker is not my only 'soul identity' however I need to do it for what-ever reson.
The dream was to one day 'BANK' on this insatiable activity,go back to my motion picture industry contacts WORLD WIDE and become competitive,PROVOCATIVE, compelling and RICH !

JAZZ was the music of her parents. Her grandmother Anna in the 50's went to the famed FIVE SPOT (club) and loved THELONIOUS MONK ! Leah's FATHER played JOHN COLTRANE, MY FAVORITE THINGS ablum on eh loop, Leah loves this kind of jazz from this time. The family then move to San Francisco Bay Area.
Leah's GODFATHER Drummer/producer Paul Tillman Smith would take her around a lot of Jazz Recording Artists as a teenager.

Like with only one night in LA before flying to JFK the next day. Chinna calls me and tells me he has only one night all so before flying back to Jamaica,.so after my plane ride from Maui to LAX, from LAX I go directly to RAS MICHAEL'S house, where EARL 'CHINNA' SMITH has invited me to a get together/ jam session !
That was like some kind of family reunion, me an my daughter Chaka had a lovely time.

"Yeah I was just walking down the steet in New York and I hear STEEL PULSE, see the cd's on the taple and I think to myself "what kind of life is this ?
