In this Power BI Tutorial for beginners, I will show you how to create calculated columns, so that you can compare the values of text fields from different tables and so that you can display the outcome as a slicer.

In my last video, I have shown you how to create new measures to compare the values of text fields in different tables using if statement and sumx.

I have also mentioned that whenever possible, we should try to avoid calculated columns and use measures instead, unless if we need to display the values of your calculated columns in a slicer, in your Power BI report.

That is what we will cover in this video.
I will show you how to create calculated columns, so that you can compare the values of text fields from different tables and so that you can display the outcome as a slicer.

I will show you how to user RELATED DAX, which is super useful to get values from other tables. Something similar to VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP in Excel, that you can use in Power BI.

I will be building on the power bi report examples from the previous video, which is available for download from my website lighthouse analytix.com

Hope you are able to learn something useful by watching this video.
If you enjoy the video, please give me a thumb up, leave some comments and be sure to check out my other Power BI Tutorial For Beginners video in my channel.
