Alexa L Chan PRs at 11’7” at NCS Meet of Champions
Alexa did amazing at the NCS Meet of Champions!
🎉She PR'd at 11'7"🎉 which also means she broke the school (Moreau Catholic) junior girls’ pole vault record which was 11’4” - woohoo!!
✨She is also now the Top 3 highest jumper for Girls overall (Top 9 for Boys!!)
She attempted 11’11 and was so close to clearing it. If the standards were pulled forward she would have cleared it because she had the height. Her coach was really broken up about it yesterday but it’s all good!
She competed against former Edge Gymnastics gym mate, Elyse Doyal who also cleared 11’7 on the first attempt so they were tied but Alexa cleared 11’3 on the second attempt and Elyse cleared on her first attempt so Elyse placed 3rd and qualified for State. Alexa placed 4th. Way to go ED!! It was a great meet. 🤩 I loved that they announced all the athletes beforehand and did an awards ceremony right after.
What an experience it’s been this season. We learned so much about this sport and now we know how it works and are so excited for her senior year. It’s gonna be so much fun. Alexa will break the school’s girls’ PV record of 12’3” so her name will be on the school wall!!
