In today’s video, we take a look at the MDR 5.56 version as a strong contender for the best mid-game assault rifle, once you have access to the flea market. The MDR is easy to mod, and we run through a few MDR builds, focussing on foregrips and suppressors that can get a little bit more out of this weapon and make it good with only a few parts.

The main comparison that we should make is the MDR vs AKs, primarily focussing on the 5.45 AKs as the closest comparison both in terms of utility and ammunition. As we know, ammo is the most important consideration in Tarkov when it comes to weapon performance, and doing a full breakdown of M856A1 vs BT shows the 5.56 weapons to be superior in 12.11 given the increased cost of BT on the flea when compared to previous patches.
