I Made My ($3) Smoke Alarm Hook Up With Alexa
I made my ($3) smoke alarm hook up with alexa. I used a wemos D1 R3 board to send a signal to my Amazon Alexa (tm) to activate a smoke Routine. Perfect smart home idea

Yes, there are way easier ways to do this, but I had fun regardless! Great little Arduino project!

I bought a $3.00 kidde smoke / fire detector from walmart.
After reviewing a little history about Walter Kidde (pour one out) and finding an easter egg on the Kidde Smoke alarm (1943) board.
I cut the alarm buzzer off. I modded it with a blue Led.
I then used my Wemos D1 R3 board(not an Arduino, but you know what I mean) I hooked it up to an old relay I found. I made my amazon echo dot Alexa think that she was connected to a doorbell, so when the alarm goes off it would send the signal wire to the relay to ground the {{button}} on the Wemos D1 Board.
I made my amazon alexa screen ;) play a customized script from the amazon alexa app on my android phone. The script included my amazon alexa saying a customized skill saying a custom phrase and then change all my lights to green and play snoop doggy dog and Dr. Dre's meme song "The Next Episode" so I can blaze while I blaze.
