The Baltimore County Police Department is proud to celebrate its 150 years of service in the year 2024, as it was established on April 11, 1874, following the approval of the Maryland Legislature.
Throughout the years, the Baltimore County Police Department has continuously evolved and adapted to the changing landscape of law enforcement while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.
Sesquicentennial Fact: In 1916, the Department purchased its first automobile and motorcycle and put them into service.
