Check out this teapot. Isn’t it amazing? For me there are three things that stand out about it: i) It is beautiful; ii) Its design takes account of the user’s needs; iii) It is so striking, people will want to talk about it (which translates into ‘Social Currency’!). It is simply brilliant. The question for us (EL teachers) is ‘Can we not have activities or materials which share these characteristics?’
