In this short tutorial I will show you how to cut an image in a non-destructive way in Illustrator. Open an image, and with the image selected go to properties and click on mask, and it`s created a clipping group, in layers panel you will have a shape and an image, select and resize the shape and then you can reposition the image in shape, and the image is only the size of the shape.
