Wuthering Waves CRINGY-EDGY localization - Review by Gateoo (Linguistics Prof. at Havard)
Wuthering Waves most hyped character Camellya was found to contain a very cringy and edgy voice line for her attacks.
For context, the term "stemming" is not a professional botany term, and is used by amateurs in the field who do not know any better.
This is very contradictory to the character Camellya because the whole theme is about flowers and botany.
To use such an amateur term is very embarrassing and it exposes how little knowledge and research the developers have and have put in.
This episode is reviewed by world renowned Linguistics Professor, Gateoo, from Havard University.
In the promotional video, Camellya was found shouting "STEMMING!", which immediately caught the attention of the learned ear of Gateoo.
The translation is also different from the original term in Chinese, which means the devs themselves approved this cringy term without knowing any better (are they illiterate?).
This is not the first time Wuwa failed to have depth in the theme.
