If you bought a full suspension ebike in the lower price category, there is a very good chance that it has a very heavy spring on it that provides barely any suspension at all, and has no damping. These cheap electric bikes come with the same suspension that you would get on a Walmart mountain bike. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it means, you can buy the e-bike cheaper and put whatever suspension you want on it. The most important upgrade you can do for the money to improve your e-bike riding experience on a full suspension bike is to upgrade the standard coil spring with an adjustable air shock absorber. A bicycle air shock absorber has a valve on it that you can use to change the ride height, and the amount of compliance you have when you go over bumps. If you put a good airshock on the back of a cheap full suspension e-bike, you’ll find that the ride is a lot more comfortable and more like a motorcycle than a hardtail bicycle.
