3 Rescued owls from side of road
3 Spotted Owlets with broken wings rescued from Pattaya.
Timeline:
Friday night around 2330 hrs Syeda read a post in a local FB group asking for help for 3 owls.
She contacted Jojo at Liberate Wings and then drove in the middle of the night to pick up the owls to deliver to us. Their family of 4 drovr to pickup the owls from the person’s house near mabprachan lake area she named them Curly, Larry and Moe😁😁
Owls got dropped at 0230 hrs and they drove back home to pattaya again 0300 hrs. Roads were empty, no crazy drivers cutting lanes, no traffic jams……. It was a smooth ride😃
0830am: 3 owls taken to Kasetsart Veterinary Hospital to the exotic pet division. Chris waited in line until 1200pm where they did x-rays and found out the Owls all have have compound fractures on their wings.
We are assuming either they were abused and dumped or were caught to be sold but had gotten damaged wings in the process. We are not sure about the background story and no one can surely tell what happened with the owl babies, but fingers crossed that they heal and survive. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🥰🥰🥰
Curly and Moe have bandaged wings. Larry's wing should be able to heal without bandaging. They are currently taking calcium, antibiotics, amongst other meds. There are 2 appointments for laser treatments on Monday and Wednesday to help their wings heal faster.
