I have no beef with microtransactions, loot boxes, battle passes or any other modern gaming trappings as a hardcore gamer on the surface. It can be an efficient way to add a lifetime of content to old multimedia and keep the experience fresh and new, while giving the content creators/ game developers well deserved (or ignoble sources of) royalties and extra revenue streams.
I have a deep cooked, tender and succulent beef in HOW these systems are implemented into modern gaming that makes my blood boil over with pissant vinegar rage. If modern games had microtransactions catered to specific Wishlist's of what people want to buy at all times, more gamers will spend money on their games of choice! If content flow was steady, and most importantly, that we as gamers had irrefutable proof that our microtransaction money is always spent on better optimized products and more quality content within those products, then we would vote with our wallets to pay more and more for an ever evolving gaming experience.
This is obviously NOT what Halo Infinite is doing at all, and its time to wake up and smell the saggy Grunt nipples! Or lack of playable Elites and Grunts thereof to this day, not to mention the thousands of other missing features in Halo Infinite (Finite) that ALL need to be in DAY 1 of the Unreal Engine 5 Halo game from the very start! Do I even need to mention that this recorded game crashed to desktop yet again, and Microsoft saying the next season will patch this, so Season 5 PC players are stuck with remarkably unoptimized garbage IS SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Drip fed content, horribly exploitative Cross-Core drip-feeding, disgusting cosmetic bundles with no fix for the horrible outline system in matchmaking. No Red Vs Blue, completely broken theatre mode, no weapon customization, no assassinations etc. etc. etc...
Infinite's smorgasbord of core missing features are THE ONLY INFINITE FEATURE IN THIS UNMATCHINGLY DISSAPOINTING GAME! I love Halo Infinite so much in spite of all the disappointment, but its threadbare and unoptimized fundamentally compared to the OG timeless Bungie masterpieces. Few video games on the market, let alone any FPS has Halo Infinite's insane potential, or is getting that potential choked stillborn more savagely. About to do a major revision to my tier lists, and Halo Infinite isn't going to fare well to put it mildly...
Don't tell me for nothing, that the Xbox Series X version is optimized better, when consoles are capped to 120 FPS at best! Absolutely ZERO modding support for the Xbox MCC, despite every ability for 343 Industries to enable such a feature for consoles.
