This video describes about Error Detection & Correction Technique, Parity Check, Checksum, Cyclic Redundancy Check with example.
"Parity Check:
One extra bit is sent along with the original bits to make number of 1s either even in case of even parity, or odd in case of odd parity.
A parity bit, or check bit, is a bit added to a string of binary code to ensure that the total number of 1-bits in the string is even or odd.
Parity bits are used as the simplest form of error detecting code. There are two variants of parity bits: even parity bit and odd parity bit.
Checksum:
A checksum is a count of the number of bits in a transmission unit that is included with the unit so that the receiver can check to see whether the same number of bits arrived.
Cyclic Redundancy Check:
CRC is the most powerful and easy to implement technique.
CRC is based on binary division.
In CRC, a sequence of redundant bits, are appended to the end of data unit so that the resulting data unit becomes exactly divisible by a second, predetermined binary number.
