A capacitive phone screen operates by detecting changes in an electrical field created by a transparent conductive layer integrated into the glass surface. When a finger, which is conductive, touches the screen, it disrupts this field, causing a change in capacitance at the contact point.
The device's system measures these changes and calculates the precise coordinates of the touch, which the processor then interprets as a command.
