In todays episode of Grid 101 we talk about using transposition and quantising to automatically build diatonic chords off of any input root note. This is a great way to keep generative or randomised musical patterns making sense. Rather than simply having notes all over the place, you can have one line of notes, programmed or generated that then informs the other voices harmony. In future lessons we look more at how this can be implemented alongside chance and randomness to create ever evolving but harmonically sound musical ideas.
Please excuse, if you can, the buzzing sound throughout the video. I have no idea what happened there and didn't notice it until I'd finished uploading.
Happy Monday and happy creating!
